Radiological Technician

Vocational position accountable for administrative and technical work involving the operation of highly technical and expensive X- ray and CT equipment. Incumbents are responsible maintaining the equipment and performing specialized radiology work. General assignments are usually received in the form of written instructions and directions from an administrative superior, tuberculosis specialist, or a physician. May direct the work of lower-level positions.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and must be a graduate of an American Medical Association approved two year school of Radiologic Technology and 0-2 years experience in the operation of X ray equipment.

Radiological Team Lead

Supervisory-level position accountable for administrative and technical work involving the operation of highly technical and expensive X-ray and CT equipment. Incumbents are responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Radiology unit, maintaining the equipment, and performing specialized radiology work. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and must be a graduate of an American Medical Association approved two year school of Radiologic Technology and 5-8 years experience.

Radiological Supervisor

Supervisory/Managerial Radiology position accountable for the direction of a comprehensive statewide radiological health program. Jobs at this level are responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for the use of sources of radiation in order to prevent injury to employees utilizing ionizing radiation, and to protect the general public and environment. Supervision is exercised over health physicists, chemists, environmental engineers, and clerical personnel.

Typically requires a Doctoral Degree and 4+ years of experience.
